"I've worked for Aeropostale for the past four years. The company is great towards its employees, but lacks in management personnel. Many times management are not technical and do not make proper technical decisions. Growth is very limited. Hard work seldom appreciated. It feels like the more technical you are, the more you are used as a resource to get the job done so that the management can look good."

"Aeropostale is a good job. You just have to deal with customers and stay late during holidays and summer because of how much clothing in the store. The managers and some employees talk behind each other's back and make fun of people. There are also good discounts."

"Great management and very understanding. I've been lucky."

What do you like about working at Aéropostale?

"I like that I was able to move up in the company. But that only happens when there is a position open and anything in the management is usually taken because they get paid better than minimum wage. I like the atmosphere. They make you feel welcome. The workers are nice. I love the competitions and getting the employees hyped and excited."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Wear the Aero brand to an interview. Be open to answering questions. Be yourself, and say you want to be there. Also keep your personal life to yourself. Yes we do like to talk and you can tell us about your day, just when it comes to personal stuff unless its financially (aero has a program to help with that) just keep things to yourself. That's my goal for 2013. Keep more to myself."

What don't you like about working at Aéropostale?

"The customers suck! They don't care that it took you 20 minutes to make that table look perfect. They want the shirt ,right from the middle when I know they aren't a small or medium! The upper managers don't talk to me about anything and I am way out of the loop as to what is going on in our store, like when your Store Manager decides to go on a vacation the week we are getting a new sales lead from a different store when we could have promoted someone within our own store."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Talk to everyone. Let them know that they aren't going to be working after the holidays if they are temp employees, talk to your staff. Have good communication."

"aeropostale can be fun, but there are a lot better companies out there"

What do you like about working at Aéropostale?

"Some coworkers are very nice, occasionally aero could be fun. Employee discount is very generous"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I personally would never go back to this company. I promise you can find a better job any where else. The company I'm with now has better pay, better hours, and also offers benefits for anyone who works there part time or full time! And might I mention, part time employees also get paid vacation and paid personal days. Aeropostale does none of this."

What don't you like about working at Aéropostale?

"The company really isn't that bad when the store is open. When they close, expect to be there for hours upon hours. I dont understand how the company can't figure out, if you don't put 30+ stacks of shirts on one table with 20+ plus shirts in each stack you won't have such a mess! The store was way over stocked on the floor which is why minimum wage paid employees would have to stay until 3-4 in the morning straightening after every other store in the mall had closed up hours before...and most of them were bigger stores. You can stay working on one table for 5 hours with how many items are piled on one table. Everyone is always talking about everyone behind their backs, even management. If you have a scheduled shift don't every assume that the end time is when you are actually going to leave. Before you can leave, if you were on a register the manager has to come and count it down and they usually wait until your scheduled time to leave or after to do so. You also have to finish your go-backs (the items that customers leave at the register that they don't want) which trust me, can take up to an hour. If you work here from january-may don't be surprised if you get your schedule and see a 0 for your hours that week. They also have call in shifts where you have to call in on the day scheduled to see if they need you and that is the shift that they love to schedule people for. The aeropostale I worked for had no break room. Nothing. There was a stock room with one chair by the computer and a bathroom so don't expect to bring something to work to eat...you won't have a place to sit and eat it!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I wouldn't suggest much to the managers of the store, but to the higher ups I know the store managers are just following what they tell them. I would treat the employees better, better pay, maybe benefits for part time since the only full time positions are the managers."
