"Ask what training they will provide for you to do your job, if any. Get specific $$ figures before you start; CALL before you arrive on their given start date so they know you're coming; expect waves of intense busy days and look out for the slow ones... too many of those, then expect the tap out of the dance... the layoff. It's a good place to work - management is open to new ideas, try new things."

"Antiquated tools - software."

"Give job direction and description for incoming employees; set expectations and know when they are coming. Have a plan of what to do with them when they arrive... training perhaps."

"Being a government contractor, many contracts were bid to win and not necessarily get the job done within budget or schedule; hence my taxes were affected greatly by overruns."

"Tighter management controls of contract charging and rewards based upon merit - not popularity."

"Growth was based on practical experience and not necessarily on degrees. I earned the title of Test Engineer with no degree by demonstrating practical knowledge and common sense with on the job training."

"Learn from everyone around you, don't be afraid to get your hands dirty, hands on experience is the best teacher."

What don't you like about working at TRW Automotive?

"Other than benefit reductions due to economic times, which is understandable, there wasn't anything I didn't like about working at TRW."

"Adopt Japanese management styles and philosophies that allow more employee involvement and participation in problem resolution and more commitment to community."
