"I have worked for Kroger, for over six years all throughout college. Kroger is a great place to work for students who are looking for part time work, they work around your availability and give you as much hours as possible. I would recommend working for Kroger to any high school student or college student looking for part time work."

Assistant Finance Manager

"I have worked for Kroger for 2 years and I have loved my team work and my manager. The only reason I am searching for a new employer it is because I am moving to a different state where Kroger does not have a plant."

"I've worked for the Kroger Company since 2007. It is a family of grocery stores all over the country that employs thousands of workers. Overall it is a solid company that has been in business for quite some time. I do question their dedication to the betterment of their workers."

"Beyond terrible experience. I have seen more corrupt management than customers. Quality of work means nothing in comparison to sucking up and brown nosing. The pay won't even hit the welfare line at the end of the year yet you are always expected to drop whatever you are doing, including another job that you will have to work in order to make ends meet, to come in on a whim. While working with this company, keep a lawyer handy as there are so many things I see occur regularly, such as harassment and internal theft. The demands are always to work you 150%, management is aware tasks can't be completed in the available time and still expect it the work to get done, and no incentive to work harder as completing work only results in additional work, no raises, and sucking up accomplishes far more than quality work."

Meat Clerk

"Worked there for a year. Eight months as a courtesy clerk then moved up as a meat clerk with only a five cent raise, which is $7.35. I work full-time hours but only receive part-time benefits and when I asked for a full-time position my manager told me that was not going to happen."

"I've been working with Kroger's since I was 17, of January 2013. Working there allowed me to mix with many people of different colors, aspirations, and ideas. It was a great stepping stone, but working there I found in myself that I deserve better."

"I worked at Kroger for 4 years as a bag boy in high school and the first two years of college. The pay was fair and the job was relatively easy. No complaints!"

"I've worked at Kroger for almost a year. I work as a coffee shop clerk... managers don't give a crap about you. I have seniority over some other employees and they're getting the shifts I want when I should be getting them. They don't give breaks because normally I work alone for a 6 hour shift. I like the flexibility they give and they approve almost every day off. Also, they refuse to give you full time, if you're close they cut your hours."

"I worked there as a temp. Seemed to me no one knew what they were doing. Was a 6 month assignment. After we caught their emails up, they said "Oh hey - see you, we are done with your training class." It had been 3 weeks."

"Company has a very closed culture. If you do not start with the company at the bottom you will not be welcome. They still want to do things the same way that they did 20 year ago. They often said that there is a right way, a wrong way then the Kroger way. They do not want to hear of a better way to do things. It is their way or the highway. Rumor mill is very bad. If you like to kiss butt then this is the place for you. The good thing is that if you have a limited skill set and not a lot of drive, then this is the place for you."

Co-Manager

"I started with the company in January of 2013 in the Management Training Program. Since then I have worked for 2 of the highest volume stores in my division. Kroger is a great company, and has given me some great experience. However, the company is all about its bottom line and struggles to appreciate its employees. My work-life balance is no-existence right now, and my employees are the same."
