"I’ve worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car for the last 8+ years. I’ve really enjoyed their corporate structure and the ability to promote based on performance. They have been extremely fair in terms of compensation and would recommend their training process to any prospective employee."

"I’ve worked at Enterprise Rent a Car for 4 years. Before I began working there, I didn’t have nearly as much knowledge that I now possess. This company helped me realize that I do have a future in sales, marketing, and I am capable of taking even larger steps."

"I have worked with my current company over 7 years. I have been top Branch manager numerous of times and top seller. Our company focuses on customer service, employee development, fleet growth and profit. We learn how to operate our own business in different business sector."

"I have worked for Enterprise for the past 7 years and have really learned a lot. I feel like I have reached my potential with the company and I am now ready to move on. Enterprise has taught me hard work and has rewarded me with my results."

"I have worked for the company for over 6 years. They say they promote a good work/life balance but do not. You pull a ton of work for little compensation with little to no support from upper management. If you are not bleeding Enterprise, upper management will overlook you. Only positive thing is that having Enterprise on your resume looks GREAT for other employers."

"Having worked for Enterprise Rent-a-Car for four years, I can say that the company is a good place to launch your career. I have learned a great deal about managing a successful business here. However, you do not receive the support needed from upper management, and the hours you are expected to work are brutal. Currently, I am working nearly 65 hours a week, and rarely have the ability to take time off."

"Poor upper management and favorites came into play far too often. Management decided who got promoted where and isolated those who disagreed with their personal standards. I would not recommend this for someone who is looking for a career because it would take a lot of butt kissing to get anywhere."

"Great to cut your teeth on how and how not to manage. Not ideal for long-term."

What do you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"You grow and develop personally as much as professionally. Enterprise in any division will teach you about hard work, accountability, leadership and sales. The pay is terrible at entry levels but improves somewhat at Assistant Manager, quite a bit at Manager and very strongly at Area Manager and above (if you can get there)."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Interviews are largely behavioral. Don't discuss what you would do or how you would handle a situation; instead discuss when that has happened to you in the past and how you approached the situation. Also, focus heavily on tangible successes you achieved."

What don't you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"Long hours typical of any similar management level position. Intro Trainee hours listed at 49 but closer to 52. Assistant listed at 51 but actually 55 and Branch Manager 55 minimum. Attendance at post-work functions demonstrate leadership and are necessary to advance. The numerical performance can be weighted too heavily (how many people can I REALLY convince to come and rent from me after all) or not heavily enough if you have great numbers but your leadership isn't enough."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None that would be successfully implemented. I worked my way up to Branch Manager in both the rent a car, then rent a truck divisions. In every case the culture at this company is paramount. If you fit into that culture (aggressive salesperson, good with people but only so far as they will help your own advancement--just like all businesses, I guess, and willing to work long hours and jeopardize your family life) then you will advance. The culture is so strong in fact, I found it almost cult-like in that you MUST not just work hard and perform, but doing so fitting their profile for what a Manager should look like and act like. I was employed by Enterprise for 11 years and while I would definitely go back and do it again given what I learned, I would make some distinct changes and would definitely NOT do it for as long as I did. 3-5 years is your sweet spot unless you are a super-achiever."
